ALBION History

ALBION History

Soccer has always been part of the fabric of California’s Central Coast. For decades, families, players, and coaches across our communities have built a strong foundation of passion, pride, and competitive spirit - creating one of the region’s most dedicated soccer cultures.

In 2026, that foundation enters an exciting new chapter with the launch of ALBION SC Central Coast, expanding the nationally recognized ALBION Soccer Club ecosystem into the area and uniting athletes from across the entire Central Coast under one shared vision.

ALBION SC Central Coast brings together the very best of local tradition with ALBION’s proven national platform for excellence, development, and opportunity. Players now have direct access to elite training standards, experienced leadership, and a clear pathway from youth soccer to regional, collegiate, and national-level competition.

While our roots in the community run deep - with decades of player development and service to local families - our focus is firmly on the future: creating an inclusive, high-performance environment where athletes from all backgrounds and neighborhoods can grow, compete, and succeed together.

Today, ALBION SC Central Coast represents more than a club. It’s a regional home for soccer - built on history, driven by opportunity, and committed to elevating the game for every player on the Central Coast.

ALBION SC was formed in 1981. ALBION SC was one of the first competitive clubs in San Diego and the top program in San Diego. In the late 80’s early 1990’s many competitive clubs in the area started emerging and heavily competing. In 1998 ALBION SC landed Technical Director, Noah Gins to take over and professionalize the club, develop a club wide curriculum and develop players and teams to play at the highest level in the US. At the time, the club consisted of 6 ALBION SC teams and a large recreational program.

Looking at the present...ALBION has near 30 clubs, over 1,000  teams, 15,000 plus players, a full blown Recreational program and has played in 21 National Championship games and being crowned National Champion in 2019, 2021, and 2022, won almost every major event in the US, developed over 40 National Team players, many MLS Player and put hundreds and hundreds of players into College on over $62 million dollars in Soccer Scholarships to date. The club represents some of the best soccer in the country and has one of the most prolific coaching staffs within youth soccer. The club is progressively looking at ways to advance the club and the players, and will continue to push to higher levels moving forward.  The standards of excellence that the club has set are a bar that only a few can achieve in this country.  ALBION SC will continue to make history as it paves the way in youth soccer.
